About Me
I learned to swim before I could read. Movement has been central to my life for as long as I can remember. Competitive swimming gave me discipline and an understanding of breath — but more than that, it gave me a deep connection to my body. As an athlete you are always seeking attunement, the precise awareness of what your body is doing and what it's capable of.
Becoming a mother changed that for me. Childbirth, the physical demands of being a caretaker, layered onto years of training, and a car accident left me with injuries — but more than that, I had lost the attunement. That connection I had taken for granted in my youth was gone. Pilates gave it back. The method strengthened and challenged my whole body while supporting recovery rather than working against it. I wasn't managing my injuries anymore. I healed them. I knew then that the only thing more rewarding than experiencing that myself was helping others find it too.
I've been teaching since 2014, working with clients in California, New York City, and now from my private studio on Shelter Island. I spent summers in Sag Harbor as a kid, and when the East End started to feel like everywhere else, Shelter Island was the answer — quieter, slower, a place that gives you the space to come back to yourself. The Hi-De Out is built on that same idea. A private refuge where the work of reconnecting begins.
Meet me at the Hi-De Out.
Training/ Education
I completed my full certification through The Pilates Center Advanced Teacher Training Program in 2016, studying under Erika Linton and Suzanne Staehr at The Pilates Workshop in San Francisco — one of the most rigorous classical training programs in the country. In 2019 I completed the Kathy Grant Heritage Training with Cara Reeser, deepening my understanding of the method's roots and lineage.
My yoga training — 200 and 300 hour certifications through Yoga Shanti in Sag Harbor — informs my teaching without defining it. It lives in how I cue breath, transitions, and presence.
I continue my education through ongoing study with teachers who inspire me like Cara Reeser and Blossom Leilani Crawford. The method rewards curiosity. I am always a student.
